The Genesis Deluxe Cinema at The Palms, Lekki, Lagos will be buzzing on 7 December as crème de la crème of Nollywood will meet and greet at the exclusive premiere of the new movie, A Wish by fast rising actor and director, Elvis Chuks.
The new movie is the third effort of Chuks. He already has two movies under his belt as a filmmaker: True Citizens and Victims of The Society, an advocacy film which featured veteran actress, Joke Silva and others. The two films have been nominated for several awards in Nigeria and abroad.
Many movie pundits have already tipped the new movie, A Wish, to do very well at the cinema as it features the cast who are known professional role interpreters who know their onions. The hilarious cast includes Funke Akindele, Patience Ozorkwor, Hafeez Oyetoro, Helen Paul, Bishop Imeh, Kola Olaiya, Iyke Ogbonna, Chris Okagbue (Gulder Ultimate Search 8 winner) and Clara Iweh.
Akindele play the lead role of a single mother who makes a living as a petty trader with one wish: to see her child get education and explore the opportunities she never had. Tragedy strikes, however, when she is diagnosed with cancer. Noting that she has only a short amount of time, she struggles to achieve her dreams against all odds.
Chuks, the director, is reckoned for his outstanding role in television series, Super Story, and several Nollywood movies.
