The Enugu-based thespian had been down since last year after sustaining an injury on his left leg. The injury worsened when Pete could not get proper medical attention, with the resultant infection.

In a bid to prevent the infection from spreading to other parts of his body, doctors decided to amputate the affected leg on 24 October. But the actor died before he was discharged from hospital.

Doctors’ reports showed that the injury degenerated into a sore, which was further compounded by the fact that the actor was diabetic.

He spent three months at the hospital before he was advised to get the leg amputated to reduce the risk of the infection spreading to other parts of his body.
