Will the jinx be broken this time around in the ongoing Gulder Ultimate Search 9 as Onyinye Udodi, the last woman standing, battles three other male contenders –Paschal Eronmose, James Adah and Nuhu Zigwayi– for the ultimate title as the popular reality TV contest enters its final stretch tonight?

Onyinye has shown strength and character by coming tops in most of the challenges ahead of her male warriors, and look ready to give all that it takes for the crown as it will be revealed tonight.

Chidi Mokeme, the anchor man, had paid an early morning visit to the warriors’ camp. He ordered the last four to pack all their belongings along with other bare necessities and exit their camp for the third time. They were directed to meet him at the look-out point.

What the remaining warriors assumed may be an eviction task turned out to be a tete-a-tete with Mokeme. He took them down memory lane as they reminisced over their aspirations and experiences on GUS 9.

All of them made no pretensions about their desires to become the Ultimate Hero.

Mokeme soon left after the heart talk, while the contestants took a nap at the look-out point. By sunset, they made their way to an abandoned mill which one of their clues led them to.

They also tried to make sense of the pieces of clues which they had received from the inception of the competition. And soon laid their head to rest in preparation for the final showdown tonight.

As the show closes, all eyes will be on Onyinye, who look every inch battle ready for the title. If she succeeds, she would create history in the nine year-run of the hit television show and walk home with a princely cash prize of N10 million (N9 million grand prize plus N1 million as last girl standing), N500,000 wardrobe allowance and a brand new 2012 SUV.

But the big question is: will a female emerge the winner of GUS 9 for the first time?
