According to him, “We are ready for this year’s festival and all hands must be on deck. We on our part will do what is expected of us in the area of providing an enabling environment for the athletes. Also, we will ensure that all what you need to excel are provided. I want to assure the athletes that the State Governor, Ibikunle Amosu is not expecting anything less than first or second position from Team Ogun at the Sports Festival in Lagos.
“I want the athletes to reciprocate our government’s huge sponsorship by putting in all your efforts to ensure that Ogun State comes out victorious in Lagos”, Otenuga stated.
Responding, Team Ogun’s football Coach, Ademola Okuwa thanked the state government for the opportunity given to the athletes, and promised that the team would do well in Lagos.
“We want to commend the state government for what it has done for the athletes both in Ijebu Ode and Abeokuta.
“We appreciate this kind gesture and assure you that the athletes are ready for the festival”, Okuwa said.
In his own remark, Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the State, Alhaji Yusuf Olaniyonu, urged Team Ogun to excel in Lagos.
Olaniyonu stressed that the government will not relent on its oars until its athletes regain back the state’s lost glory.
