Nigerian boxer, Muideen Akanji has described his outing in the ongoing London Olympic Games as a  sad, saying an injury prevented him from making much impact in the world championships.

Akanji crumbled like pack of cards losing 6-15 to Darren O’neill of Ireland in the men’s 75kg category at the Games. This loss, Akanji said was due to an injury to his left leg. The pugilist told BrilaFM that he has put the poor outing in the Olympics behind and now focuses on the future.

“I had an injury in my left leg, which really affected my performance against the Irish boxer. It was so bad crashing out early in the Olympics. Anyway, that’s in my past as I will go back to concentrate on my training so that I can do well in future competitions,” he said.
