Police detectives at Homicide Department of State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, have arrested a serial murder suspect, Toheeb Sodiq a.k.a. Terrorist, for his alleged involvement in the killing of four persons in the state.
Police sources alleged that he is a professional assassin who has killed at least four victims between February and July this year and set household property ablaze.
The suspect was charged before Yaba Magistrate’s Court where he is now facing a 9-count charge for murder and arson.
P.M.NEWS gathered that his arrest followed a manhunt for him by the police after he allegedly killed another person this year and escaped.
He was eventually arrested after a tip off.
The 35-year Sodiq reportedly shot dead Adetayo Ogunyemi, Amusa Adisa, Niyi Ehindero and Okon Ekaete at Fadeyi and Mushin areas in Lagos.
After killing them at various times , he went and burnt a house belonging to Abdulmalik Sodiq at Mushin and fled.
Since then he had been on the run before police eventually caught up with him.
P.M.NEWS gathered that he confessed to the police of committing the crimes.
He was charged before the court under Sections 221 and 409 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
His plea was not taken.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr. O. S. Aka Bashorun, ordered that he be remanded in prison custody and the prosecutor should duplicate his file for DPP’s advice.
