LASG Harps on Tax Payment

Lagos State government has declared that it is a must for every taxable adults in the state to pay their taxes for the transformation being witnessed in the state to continue.

Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola made this declaration at the inauguration of the new executive committee of Eko Club, Lagos.

Represented by Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, the state’s Head of Service, Governor Fashola expressed his readiness to support the club and others in the state in their efforts to achieve the aspiration of their members.

He commended members of the club for the peaceful transition.

Also speaking at the occasion, the immediate past president of the club, Prince Shamusideen A. Ope, charged the new executives to work vigorously and improve upon the achievements recorded by his executive.

The new president, Engineer S. Owolabi Lawal, in his inaugural speech, thanked members for their support during the election.

He promised to work for the realisation of the dreams of the founding fathers of the club.

He also vowed to ensure the realisation of his nine-point agenda. These, he listed as repositioning the club for future challenges; regular maintenance and renovation of existing structures and facilities; adequate security; beautification of the club premises; provision of sports and health facilities and improvement of power supply.

Others are computerisation of membership list and upgrading of website; completion of arcade building and running an open door policy.

Other members of the newly inaugurated executives are Alhaji Taoheed. A. Banire, Vice president; Alhaji R. O. Ojikutu, General Secretary; Prince Sanni Babatunde Adele, Assistant General Secretary; Alhaji Mobolaji Ajayi, Treasurer; Alhaji Abdul S. Babajide Cole, Financial Secretary; Alhaji Saheed Olanrewaju Oki, Social Secretary; Alhaji Tajudeen A. B. Lasisi, Assistant Social Secretary; Alhaji Oseni Alakija, Sports Secretary; Alhaji Kehinde U. B. Ekemode, Welfare Officer and Prince Razak Kosoko, Internal auditor.
