As Evangelist Ebenezer Olasupo Remilekun Obey-Fabiyi clocks 70 today, the King Of World Beat, Otunba Sunday Ishola Adeniyi Adegeye aka KSA and Fuji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal aka K-I the Ultimate will be leading other top musicians to the 10 Degrees Events Centre, Lagos, to honour the celebrant.
KSA and K-1 the Ultimate will be on band stand to entertain guests, captains of the industry including the Chairman Globacom Nigeria, Otunba Mike Adenuga Jr, Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Alao Arisekola and others.
According to a programme released by the planning committee, Obey’s birthday began this morning with a thanksgiving service at Decross, Agege, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, while the reception followed immediately at the 10 Degrees Events Centre this afternoon.
P.M.NEWS learnt that one of the surprises lined up for today’s event is a musical performance by the celebrant supported by his singing son, Tolu Obey.
Today’s celebration is being organised by Obey’s friends led by Alhaji Abdul Azeez Alao Arisekola, Oloye Lekan Alabi and others.
Before today’s event, Obey handed over a rebuilt community hall to the people of Idogo in Yewa South Local Government of Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, his birth place. The community hall had been abandoned for over three decades.
To mark the milestone, Obey had wanted a low key celebration because late last year he lost his wife of 48 years, Evangelist Juliana Obey Fabiyi but his friends insisted that he must be celebrated at 70.
