The Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI Brigade Provost Marshal, Commander Adeyinka Oni Adeboye, a.k.a. Zulu, has escaped an assassination attempt on his life by an unidentified 4-man armed gang.
The suspected assassins reportedly invaded his residence at Sangotedo area of Ibeju Lekki, Eti-Osa, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria at about 1:30 am. But they did not meet him as he had travelled outside of Lagos State at the time they struck.
Narrating his ordeal to P.M.NEWS, Adeyinka said: “I give glory to the Almighty God for sparing my life in the hands of the armed hoodlums that invaded my house.
“I am a civil servant who has served the state meritoriously for years and with this frightening development, I don’t know why someone would want me dead for nothing.
“I was away in Abuja when my wife called me late in the night of Friday that some armed men numbering about four stormed my house at about 1:30 am.
“She said they gained entrance into my apartment after they broke the kitchen doors and started asking her of my whereabouts.
“When they could not find me, according to her, they told her that she was lucky and thereafter ordered her and my children to lie face down and thereafter, they left through the same kitchen door without taking anything in the house.”
When P.M.NEWS asked Oni who he suspected of being behind the dastardly act, he said: “I am not suspecting any person as I am not contesting for any position with anybody as a civil servant. I still can’t fathom why someone would want to kill me. I have reported the matter to the police.”
