Nigerian singer and producer, J. Martins, is putting his music and production career in the hands of Now Muzik, an entertainment management firm. The Highlife-pop star recently signed a management deal with the firm, joining other notables like 2Face Idibia, T.W.O, Sunny Neji and Timi Dakolo, in the firm’s stable.

In a statement by Tony Anifite, COO of Now Muzik, the singer is ready to push forward the frontiers of African music and confident that his inclusion in the firm’s stable will help propel his career.

“Basically, J Martins needs a management team that can plan his itinerary, tours and engagements. We had a meeting and we just hit it off right away. He’s a super talented artiste,” Anifite said.

J Martins, who has two albums under his belt, is set to unveil his third album titled Selah (Hebrew for “Pause and think”).

“The bar has been raised. So I believe it is time for us to pause and think on ways to generally up our game. Now Muzik has a firm grasp of my work, as well as a clear vision and plans for the next chapter in my career. We’ve got some exciting projects on the way and I appreciate Now Muzik’s dedication and determination to take my career to the next level,” said J Martins whose talent has caused him to travel to more than 78 countries.

J. Martins is responsible for producing some of Nigeria’s biggest hits. His 2008 monster classic Good or Bad featuring P-Square and Timaya, changed the tempo and rhythm of today’s contemporary highlife music. His signature tunes – a perfect blend of Soukous, highlife and hiphop, have influenced the music of A- list Nigerian/African acts like Timaya, P-Square, Bracket, Cabo Snoop and Fally Ipupa.
