'Players' Synergy'll Spur Eagles To AFCON'

Super Eagles’ Media Officer, Ben Alaiya, has said that the continuous mix of players plying their trade in the local league and foreign leagues will take the Stephen Keshi-led team to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in South Africa.

Alaiya said this on Saturday while responding to insinuations that the four local players used in the qualifying match against the Amavubi of Rwanda in Kigali on Wednesday, caused the Eagles the three points at stake.

The General Manager of Sports Day Newspaper, said the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and technical crew of the team are impressed with the performance of the local stars in the match.

He said, even as the Eagles target to win the return leg in June, that their target is to invite more of the domestic league players for the crucial match in Abuja.
