The National Summit Group, NSG, has announced plans to host a national dialogue in a bid to find solution to the challenges facing the nation.

The dialogue billed to hold in Lagos on Monday and Tuesday next week is expected to draw eminent Nigerians from across the country.

Addressing a maiden conference of the Group in Lagos, NSG convener, Prof Pat Utomi, said the dialogue is to bring together the nation’s wisest to find a way out of the enormous challenges facing the nation.

“The reality of the moment is that Nigeria is clearly at the brinks but we can work our way through that,” he said.

According to him, Nigeria cannot continue with such unity threatening situations hence the need for intervention of the nation’s statesmen.

“The dialogue will review the state of the nation and suggest the best ways forward,’’ Utomi said.

He said the critical issues on the agenda include the provision of basic commodities for the people of Nigeria, security but most importantly the constitution.

“For a very long time, Nigerians lost their voice. What is happening across the nation shows that the Nigerian people have discovered their voice. Such a dialogue at this point, unlike in the past, has greater possibility of bearing fruit,’’ he said.

He said that despite the crisis currently facing the nation, there was so much for Nigeria and Nigerians to live for.

Utomi said prominent Nigerians like Chief Olu Falae, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, Adamu Ciroma, Prof Wole Soyinka, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Obong Victor Attah, Labour and Civil Society groups have agreed to be part of the dialogue.
