The industrial strike over the removal of the oil subsidy by the Nigerian government may have necessitated the cancellation of the training of the Super Eagles scheduled for this morning as the technical crew wants the players to remain in camp and watch as the situation unfolds.

P.M Sports gathered from Emmanuel Attah, the coordinator of the team, that the Eagles will likely train later today, while hoping that the environment in Abuja will be conducive for it.

“There will be no training Monday morning. The team will train in the evening depending on the situation in the camp and in the country,” Attah said.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Secretary General, Musa Amadu, says Nigerian will watch the international friendly tie against Angola free of charge on Wednesday at the Abuja National Stadium

Amadu said throwing of the gate open would afford the home-based Eagles to play under a full capacity stadium, which the federation thinks would boost their confidence in subsequent matches.

“We decided to throw the gate open to encourage spectators to fill the stadium for the game. We want the home-based Eagles to play under intense atmosphere to help build their confidence and expose them to a full stadium,” he said.

He said the friendly tie will start by 4p.m Nigerian time.
