Oshodi, Oladunjoye To Grace Deen Stars Table Tennis Finals

Lagos State Commissioner for Sports, Barrister Enitan Oshodi and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola on Grassroots Sports Development, Prince Wale Oladunjoye are expected to grace the finals of  the 41st Annual Deen Star Table Tennis Championship.

The tournament, which started yesterday, will end on Sunday at 64, Lagos Island Local Government Council Hall, Zapas, Lagos Island.

Director and Founder of Deen Star Table Tennis Club, Mr. Tajudeen Olaniyi Onitana told P.M.Sports that the final ceremony will be a colourful one. he added that all the invited guests have signified their intention of gracing the event on Sunday.

Among the players discovered in the championship over the years are Aminat Fashola, Funke Hassan and Tolu Etti, who are champions in the ongoing Lagos Table Tennis league.

Other players discovered at the Annual Deen Star Table Tennis Championship are Ayinla Alimat and Willougby Isinat, who won bronze medals at the recently concluded All Secondary School Championship held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

It would be recalled that Muizdeen Olaniyi Onitana won gold medal in the junior category of the 40th edition of the tournament last year. Onitana is a student of Eko Akete Grammar School, Lagos and he is currently one of the beneficiaries of the Adopt A-Talent Sports Programme, a project of the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to Governor Fashola.
