For commedian, Tunde Adewale, popularly known as Tee A, the night of 27 November will remain a red letter day. On that day, the crème de la crème of Nigeria gathered inside the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos to celebrate the top comedian who marked a decade and a half as one of Nigeria’s most distinguished comedians.

At a 3-in-1 dinner concert that had on stage the likes of Sir Shina Peters, Omawumi, Ali Baba, Basorge Tariah, BasketMouth and Terry G, tributes poured in from all sides.

Friends, colleagues and fans gushed about Tee A’s impact and legacy in the entertainment industry. “Tunde is a very dear brother to me and I’m so proud of him. We’ve travelled great distances together and his prodigious talent has never been in doubt,” said Dele Momodu, Publisher, Ovation magazine.

Kingsley James, MD, Digiprints Ltd sees him as a loving husband, great chef, loyal friend, lover of Arsenal, witty, stubborn but with a heart of gold.

His fellow comedian, Jedi said of Tee A. “Right from the time I saw Tee A on stage, seated at the back of the Shell Hall, Muson Centre with the late Jaiye Aboderin and Holy Mallam at LIVE ‘n’ Naked, I knew in my heart I would work with this guy and so it happened. He is a great man indeed and I celebrate him,” Jedi said.

For Waje, it goes beyond comedy. The award winning female singer said she was at the dinner event to support Tee A because he is an inspiration to her and other young artistes. His childhood friend Odutola Odunaiya speaks about Tee A’s 15-year journey. “If you don’t have a dream, how are you going to make a dream come true?”  Odunaiya asked.

Godfather of Nigerian comedy, Ali Baba, described Tee A as a “dynamic artiste, comedian, entertainer and recently, a dynamic businessman. He is a good student who learns the good things and does not joke with his job.”
