Ghanaian Firm Plans N100m Plant For Nigeria, Launches New Product

A Ghana-based firm, Agya Appiah Bitters Ltd., says it has concluded plans to establish a N100 million food and beverage firm in the country.

The Country Director of the firm, Segun Awe-Obe, disclosed this at the Lagos International Trade Fair along Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

The company also used the fair which ended today to introduce Agya Appiah Bitters into the market.

According to him, the decision to invest in the country is borne out of its huge economic potential.

“Nigeria is a very big market and any company that wants to be relevant and improve on its bottom-line should be a player in the Nigerian market,” Awe-Obe said, adding; “It is also our abiding faith in the economy of the country.”

He noted that when completed, the plant will absorb not less than 3,000 workers either direct or indirect.

He said the new product is launched to fill the gap in the market.

“Agya Appiah is a unique bitters for all occasions,” he said.

Also speaking on the new product, Marketing Manager of the company, Alexander Wilson, said the product, though competitive in price, is of premium quality.

He said adequate arrangements have been made to make the products available in Nigeria.
