“As the complainant, I’m in a hurry to go to the senate,” she said.

Continuing, she said: “no matter what happens, the God of justice will give us justice at the end.”

She stated this why reacting to a question concerning perceived delay in hearing her appeal over the Election Tribunal sitting in Awka that struck out her case against Senator Chris Ngige in the last April Anambra Central Senatorial election for not filling INEC Form FT008.

Earlier, the three-man panel of judges led by Justice Abdulkadir Jega, had adjourned the matter till Monday, 14 November following an application by Emeka Ngige (SAN) counsel to Dr. Chris Ngige, arguing that the record of the tribunal held on 13 September was omitted in the one before the court.

He held that that portion of the judgment is vital to him to knock out the appeal filed by O. A. Obianwu, counsel to Akunyili.

Other justices include Bode Loku-Shodipe and Sam Oseji.

Counsel to the second respondent (INEC), Ositadinma Jude Nnadi (SAN), supported the adjournment, arguing that the appeal had to be taken within 60 days after the tribunal’s judgment was delivered, which will expire on 19 December.
