Kaunda Commends Lagos On Infrastructural Development

Former Zambian President Kenneth Kaunda has praised the infrastructural development efforts of the Lagos state government, saying that the state has achieved tremendous progress in the past few years.

Speaking further on his visit to the deputy governor of Lagos state, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, who stood in for Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola(SAN), he  also commended other development strides the government is making, adding that  he was motivated by the need to promote the  unity of the African children and their welfare which he said is the thrust of his new initiative through the Kenneth Kaunda Children of Africa project.

Kaunda, who was accompanied on the visit by some officials of the foundation, said that he was also motivated by the need to involve Nigeria in the campaign because of the leading role the nation is playing on the African continent, adding that African children must contribute positively to the growth and development of the continent.

 

 

In her remark, the Deputy Governor, Orelope-Adefulire, disclosed that the state government will soon inaugurate a body to enforce the laws on domestic violence in order to save the children of the state from all forms of abuse.

 

 

She said further that the need to implement the laws on domestic violence in the state has become imperative in order to stem the tide of broken homes and remove the children from the streets, a development she attributed to domestic violence in homes.
