International Friendly Match: Botswana Arrive On Thursday

A contingent of 23 players and nine officials of Botswana national football team nicknamed The Zebras will hit Lagos on Thursday ahead of the international friendly between the Southern African nation and the Super Eagles of Nigeria billed to hold on Saturday, 12  November at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo State.

Zambia national football team known as the Chipolopolo will arrive the country either on the evening of Sunday, 13 November or the morning of the following day ahead of another friendly tie with the Eagles billed to hold on Tuesday, 15 November in Kaduna.

Media Officer of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Demola Olajire, said that the Botswana team will leave for Benin as soon as they land in Lagos, while the Eagles and their coaches will hit Benin on Friday.

The Nigerian team will leave for Kaduna after their match on Saturday to keep a date with the Zambians.

Nigeria will play the two friendlies under a new coaching crew headed by former Super Eagles skipper, Stephen Keshi, who has been given the task of qualifying the team for both 2013 African Cup of Nations and 2014 World Cup.

Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2012 African Cup of Nations when they played 2-2 draw with Syli Nationale of Guinea on 8 0ctober at the Abuja National Stadium. As a result of this Coach Samson Siasia was sacked by the NFF.
