On Sunday night, delectable Am Ok and lanky Precious had their dreams of the fame and fortune that the Glo Naija Sings, an M-Net produced music talent hunt show, promise cut short as the two were booted out.

This was the first time two contestants will be voted out at the same time for being with the least number of votes from fans and audiences across Africa.

And this makes the competition more intense and challenging.

This paved way for the Top 5-Christian, Mattade, Tee Songz, Oni and Vicky- who lit the stage and thrilled the audience with popular Afrobeat hits, bringing back memories of the late Afrobeat legend and creator, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Christian was the first to perform, singing Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s popular hit Zombie, while wowing the audience with his intricate dance steps. He later sang Open and Close, another Fela hit to the delight of the audience. Oni’s two songs for the week were Fela’s Suffering and Smiling and Coffin for Head of State; for which she got praises from the audience who noted that she could have done better.

Next was Vicky with a superlative performance of Fela’s Teacher, Don’t Teach Me Nonsense and Lagbaja’s Konko Below. The audience commended her for being “off the hook” saying Lagbaja and Ego will be very proud of her performance.

Tee Songz also lit up the studio with his intricate dance steps and exciting performance of Fela’s Army Arrangement and the popular hit Lady. Mattade’s performance of Fela’s Sorrow, Tears and Blood and Argument also got positive reviews from the audience who said that he did justice to the great afrobeat legend.

The week’s judges, comprising Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti, scion of the Afrobeat legend and guest judge, Onyeka Onwenu and Olisa Adibua were on hand to weigh in with their opinions on the contestants’ performances for the week.
