Nigeria coach, Samson Siasia, has given Osaze Odemwingie, who just returned to the national team for the first time since March, the licence to kill when Guinea come calling this weekend.
Siasia welcomed Osaze back to the squad just before the team’s first training session early today, with a charge to pile misery on Guinea
“We would like to say welcome back. We have missed you in the team and we are all happy to see you,” Siasia told Osaze.
“We know how you always give everything when you play for your country, a reason Nigerians love you so much, and we know that you will do the same this weekend.
“This is a very important game for us, because we have to qualify for the Nations Cup. We need goals and we know you can deliver that for us, so we will be counting on you and the rest of the team.”
Osaze, the most senior player at today’s training, led the rest of the squad in warming up before some light drills by the coaching crew.
A total of 12 players were at the team’s training session at the practice pitch of the Abuja National Stadium early today.
Five others who came in were allowed to rest at the hotel.
Captain Joseph Yobo and defender Taye Taiwo arrived soon after training to raise the number to 19.
Expected to complete the squad later today are Mikel Obi, Efe Ambrose and Ekigho Ehiosun.
