Community Leaders Honour Odi Olowo/Ojuwoye Residents

In appreciation of their contributions to the development of the community, members of Ilupeju East Community Development Association, Ilupeju, Lagos, last weekend rolled out the drums in celebration and honour of some individuals and corporate bodies in the area.

The event, which took place at the Odi Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area’s secretariat, Ilupeju, was attended by residents, political leaders and royal fathers, including the first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, who presented the Best Local Government Performance award to the incumbent chairman of the council, Mr. Adeyemi Alli.

Also in attendance were the traditional ruler of Odi Olowo, Oba Abdul Fatai Adisa Irawo Ogunsi and Cornelius Ojelabi, Commissioner for Rural Development, among other dignitaries.

Speaking on the reason for the occasion, the chairman of the development association, Mr. Babatunde Odele a.k.a. Pawpaw, said it was in appreciation of the enviable transformation of the community made possible through selfless contributions of all residents and none residents alike, public office holders, especially the local government, which had been so supportive.
