Top actors of the New Masquerade fame, James Iroha known as Gringory Akabogu and David Offor a.k.a. Clarus, are critically ill, P.M. Entertainment can reveal.
One of their former colleagues in the rested TV drama series, Chika Okpala (MON) a.k.a. Chief Zebrudaya Okorigwe Nwogbo alias 4.30, made the revelation at the Niteshift Colisium, Opebi, Lagos, during a tribute concert in honour of the Lady of Songs, Chief Christy Essien-Igbokwe, on Tuesday.
According to Okpala, the veteran actors both have eye related problems and that they need proper care and prayers to survive.
He noted that those that put smiles on the faces of Nigerians, especially artistes, are not properly taken care of, adding, “during our time, we were doing it because of the satisfaction, but now that the money is coming, we are either not taken along or left unrecognised.â€
Okpala, who bagged a national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) also noted humorously that he is just M-O-N without E-Y. While paying glowing tribute to the fallen Lady of Songs, he called on the Federal Government to immortalise her by naming a national monument after her.
