An Ojo Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Lagos has dissolved the union between a retired soldier, Mr. Rasheed Banku, 65 and his wife, Mrs. Regina Banku.
Regina had gone to court asking for the dissolution of the 38-year old marriage because of maltreatment by her husband.
She also accused him of adultery, lack of care and lack of respect, adding that there is no more love between them.
The marriage is blessed with five grown up children.
The respondent did not contest the dissolution but prayed the court to grant him custody of the children.
The court refused to adjudicate on custody of the children because they are old enough to decide where to live and what they want for themselves.
After the dissolution, the petitioner asked the court to warn the respondent to stop threatening her and keep away from her.
