The founder, Revival Assembly, Apostle Anslem Madubuko, has branded many Nigerian pastors as occultic, saying that one can hardly count genuine pastors these days.

His church has just ended its Azusa Conference, which was meant to usher in revival in the nation and liberate the people from poverty at its Revival Assembly Cathedral, Cocoa Road, Ogba, Lagos, South West Nigeria.

“Yes! There are many occult pastors nowadays; in fact, we can count good pastors now by the fingers,” said Madubuko when asked to comment on several ugly reports about Nigerian pastors.

“This is the more reason why we all have to be careful. The fact that somebody claims to be seeing vision does not mean he is from God. Today, people are dabbling into occultism and playing some smart games,” he added.

“They get information about people and use such information as prophecy to get money out of them. Pastors get information about people’s telephone numbers, account numbers, names, villages and all other diabolic stuffs. We don’t need all that,” he said.

According to him, “it is for people who don‒t understand the word of God, who have itching ears, who want a quick fix, who don’t understand what it means to wait on God, who are not prepared to prayerfully wait on God to do what He wants to do at His own time.

“Unfortunately, that is the danger; that is the problem with the church of today and these occult pastors. Sadly too, they are the ones who have access to the presidents, the governors and other government officials; so invariably, they are the ones ruling, telling the governors who to make commissioners, what to do and what not to do, all in the name of prophecy,” he stated.

Madubuko said many governors were being misguided because they do not know what to do, adding that they depend on the instructions of these so-called prophets and men/women of God.

Speaking on the ninth edition of AZUSA Conference, Madubuko stated that AZUSA is an Indian word and means “Blessed Miracle,” assuring thousands of worshippers of God’s blessings at the five-day event.

He assured both regular worshippers and invitees of a time of divine encounter and miraculous happenings, both during and after the programme.

On the first night, Pastor Alex Omokudu of Victory Pentecostal Assembly, Europe testified to God’s miraculous lifting for those that are cast down, urging all to trust in God.

Also speaking, Pastor George Adegboye, completely stole the heart of the congregation who were captivated by the way and manner he presented his message.

Preaching on the topic: You May Need To Do More, the itinerant preacher pointed out that Christians should spend more time to study God’s word in order to fit into His original plan. He decried the level of laziness and self-inflicted ignorance among worshippers of God today, saying that “the greatest tragedy among Christians is the level of biblical illiteracy. God wants us to operate in knowledge, which is why He gave us the Bible.”
