Oguntuase Takes Charge 24 Hours After Swearing-in

Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions, Mrs. Florence Modupeola Oguntuase has called on participants at a workshop organised for the state counsels and legal officers in the State Public Service, to maximise the knowledge acquired and apply it to their daily duties.

 

Oguntuase, who resumed at work 24 hours after being sworn-in, declared it was important to acquire the knowledge in the belief that there is always an advancement in the frontiers of knowledge.

 

The commissioner also advised participants at the workshop to take advantage of the vision of the Fashola administration by working towards positioning Lagos as the flag bearer of the country.

 

She therefore enjoined them to implement their assigned responsibilities in a better and efficient way as the state has now become a brand that other states emulate.

 

Earlier, in her welcome address, the Director-General of the State Public Service Staff Development Centre, Mrs Bunmi Fabamwo stated that the 3-day programme tagged “WORKSOP ON NEGOTIATION SKILLS FOR LAWYERS” is targeted at public servants in the state’s Public Service in line with the vision of the state government.

 

She further stated that the programme is designed to expose state counsel and legal officers to practical and interactive approach to negotiations taking into cognizance the increasing economic and social demand on Lagos State Government due to its megacity status.

 

Mrs. Fambamwo also highlighted the benefits of the workshop, which include: ability to explain the essential tools to conduct effective commercial negotiations, ability to develop key tactics for international negotiations which will facilitate cross-border deals, acquisition of effective persuasive techniques to get result, ability to recognise and deal with tactics and ploys of stakeholders, ability to negotiate directly with clients in a safe environment and also the ability to negotiate strategically for a win-win outcome.
