As Zimbabwe’s Vimbai and Wendall, who were up for eviction from the Big Brother Amplified (BBA) house survived, with Wendall more popular among viewers as he received more country votes, last Sunday’s eviction show saw one of Malawi’s representatives in the BBA “mind game” Felicia, being evicted after spending 55 days in the house.

The 24-year-old Malawian had her hope of winning the sixth edition of the reality show dashed as she became the ninth housemate to be booted out of the show.

Nigeria’s Vina burst into tears as Felicia’s name was mentioned as the next evictee.

She had earlier saved herself and placed Felicia on the chopping block, yet she could not handle the repercussions of her action. Felicia stood side by side with her country mate, Lomwe, holding their country’s national flag.

But Wendall’s narrow escape was his first experience of the Sunday eviction and he managed to impress Africa, who in turn gave him their votes.

Among the nominees for eviction last week, Ethiopian Hanni received the most votes from five countries-Ethiopia, Angola, Ghana, Nigeria and the Rest of Africa, while Zimbabwe, Namibia and Zambia voted to save Wendall and Lomwe was saved by Malawi and Mozambique.

Zeus received two country votes from Botswana and South Africa. Sharon O was saved by her home country, Uganda and Vimbai was saved by Tanzania.

Millicent had her compatriots from Kenya to thank for being her saving grace but the evicted Felicia received no votes.

Meanwhile, Millicent who received the second least votes was also evicted from the BBA Heads house and sent to the Tails house.

Vimbai was lucky to have survived eviction as there was a three-way tie between her, Millicent and Sharon O as they all had one country vote each.

For this reason the tie-breaking mechanism was used and on a percentage basis. Sharon O who had 10.23 per cent and Vimbai who had 12.93 per cent of the votes were both declared safe.

Millicent who received 6.41 per cent was therefore sent to the Tails house. Her entry into the Tails house had Miss P mute in shock. Immediately she entered, the Tailsmates urged Millicent to kiss Alex and rekindle their old flame as the two shared the first kiss in the Amplified season, but were soon separated when all the housemates were split into two houses, the Heads and Tails.

Now that Millicent and Alex have been reunited, some Tailsmates want the two of them to carry on where they left off.

Some want to veto that move to give Miss P an opportunity to carry out her season-long mission of dating Alex.

Meanwhile, as the continental television reality show gains more momentum, it has lived up to its new name: Amplified, as the housemates are also playing along quite well in anticipation of winning the $400,000 ($200,000 each to two winners).

Just as the debate over the morality and ethics of the show generate scads of reaction, there are exclusive shower hour and daring nudity photos of the housemates, already released on the show’s website.

While some believe that the housemates might not be aware that their shower hour is being shown to the whole of Africa, recently evicted Ghana’s representative, Confidence, dropped the shocking revelation at a press conference in Ghana that every housemate in the Big Brother house is aware that their “shower hour” is being streamed for a section of the public on the Big Brother official website.

“We know about the BB VIP but people should go there and enjoy the pictures and video from the shower hour. People should enjoy and live with the memories and nothing else,” Confidence, owner of Accra’s popular niteclub, Aphrodisiac said.

The BB VIP members only content package includes a live stream during shower hour (Monday to Friday), exclusive video-on-demand clips, rant and rave sessions with the housemates, as well as web exclusive, uncut material and a downloadable game.
