KAI Boss Warns Against Attack On Officials

People engaging in street trading in Lagos State have been advised to desist from assaulting and harassing men of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) Brigade while carrying out their official duties.

Giving the advice, the outfits Marshall General, Capt. Danjuma Maigeri (retd), said that officials of the law enforcement arm of the Ministry of the Environment should not be obstructed from performing their legitimate duties.

According to him, the state government has zero tolerance for street trading and that the brigade will not be intimidated by those who are against the government policy.

“I want to warn people trading illegally on the streets to desist from attacking or harassing our men who are carrying out their legitimate duties. We have warned them severally to stop selling on the streets. Lagos is a mega city and we will not stop to achieve our dream of turning the city around and keep it clean at all times,” he stressed.

He reiterated that hawking, display or selling of goods, wares, articles or offer services of any form on the highway, bridges and roads, in and around any public building in the state is illegal and that anyone found in such act is liable to arrest and prosecution.
