The size of Nigerian Breweries plc’s family recently became bigger when the brewery welcomed B.E.A.T band, Star Quest 2011 winners, into its household as official family members.
Members of the band were given the formal recognition at a ceremony organised in their honour and held at the Lagos Brewery Bar, at the company’s headquarters in Iganmu, Lagos. The occasion, which was used to celebrate the band and formally introduce its members to company staff, also had a crowd of fans in attendance to enjoy an evening of music, dance and refreshment.
Jacco Van der Linden, Marketing Director, NB plc, said the purpose of the ceremony was not only to offer company staff a good opportunity to socialize but to also formally absorb the band into the Nigerian Breweries family. Linden stated that the band would be joining its musical brothers and sisters from previous editions of Star Quest which include KC Presh, JukeBox, The Pulse, D’ Jewelz, D’ Accord and Diamondz.
The band, currently touring the country to entertain fans alongside other top musical acts in this year’s edition of Star Trek, performed its trademark songs that include the famous When We Fall, We Go Rise to the delight of all present.
Also present at the occasion to give a special performance was Oluwe (Ajayi Olumide) of ‘Oluwe Mawe’ fame, who had everyone dancing and singing along to his hit single.
The group, made up of Justice Adigho (keyboard), Efetobor Ojarigho (drums), Sammie Tochux (bass/band leader) with Beauty Aghedo, Charity Adubi and Enid Eyube (vocals) also promised not to let either the company or its fans down.
