President of Siverbird Group, Ben Murray-Bruce, Chairman Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State and other eminent Nigerians will deliver lectures at a seminar on Risk Management holding at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Plaza, Lagos, between 12 and 13 July, 2011.
The programme is organised by Teni Eboda, a risk management consultant and Rotimi Awelewa the programme manager.
Speaking with P.M. Entertainment, Eboda said: “event planning is the most dangerous profession, while the act of organising an eventis as tedious as it is risky. Hence, event risk and safety should form an integral part of management process of every event and a demand for it should form the basis of the execution of same.”
Eboda said that most event planners do not take the risk involved into consideration and when crises occur, they will start blaming one person or the other.
The organisers said that after watching events for over five years, “we believe that there is a need to take the campaign to those involved be it organisers, owners of event centres, government agencies and others.”
Apart from Bruce and Obasa, those in the hospitality business, communication, insurance, etc. will participate in the seminar.
