The pregnant woman who was stabbed eight times by a man identified as Austin over N20,000 he was owing her, reported by P.M.NEWS yesterday, has died.

Mrs. Ameenat Oluwafemi Agbogbo died yesterday at the Lagoon General Hospital, Apapa, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, according to her husband, Christian Agbogbo.

The late Mrs. Agbogbo, who was an accountant and a graduate of the Ogun State University died as result of complications arising from the injuries she sustained during the attack.

Christian told P.M.NEWS that she was rushed to Aniyun private hospital, Gbagada, Lagos from where she was referred to the Lagoon hospital, Apapa when she developed respiratory problems.

He said he had hoped that she and her baby would survive the attack.

The distraught husband disclosed that he suspected something was wrong when he started receiving calls from his relations on his way to the Apapa hospital.

He confirmed that the news of his wife’s death was relayed to him in the hospital.

He described his late wife as loving and caring, adding that he was surprised that Austin would stab her knowing that she was heavily pregnant.

He described the suspect, who is now on the run, as a family friend who lives near their house at Olayemi Street, Ayobo, Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos State.

The deceased, P.M.NEWS gathered, was supposed to put to bed a week before the attack.

Trouble started when the late Agbogbo, mother of one, asked Austin, an aluminium fabricator, the money she kept with him.

An argument ensued between them and this later degenerated into a scuffle during which the suspect stabbed her in the stomach.
