Folk singer, Beautiful Nubia and the Roots Renaissance Band, will be celebrating the release of their new studio album, Sun No Dey Sleep, with a special five-hour concert on Sunday, 19 June 2011 at Sparkle Hall, Joel Ogunnaike Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
Sun No Dey Sleep was recorded at Femopal Studio, Lagos, mixed by Olatunde Obajeun at King’s Studio also in Lagos and mastered by David Cain at Soundmasters Studios in Canada. It was released for physical and digital distribution in January 2011 and has enjoyed appreciable air play on grassroots and community radio stations across Canada and the USA as well as both state-owned and private radio stations in Nigeria.
The public presentation of the album will commence in Ibadan on 12 June with a concert at Spider Cafe and Lounge, opposite the University of Ibadan, Agbowo. Other notable stops in the month include an in-store performance at the iconic Jazzhole Music Store on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi and full-fledged concerts at Federal Polytechnic Ede and in Akure and Ado-Ekiti.
