Sound Hope Week Underway

The authorities of Sound Hope Private Academy, Baruwa, Ipaja, Lagos, have concluded plans to hold the maiden edition of the annual programme tagged Sound Hope Week scheduled to hold between 13 and 19 June, this year.

Part of the activities lined up for the educative and entertainment programme include an interactive session which will attract 10 guest speakers; literary and debate competition among 10 schools as well as arts and culture exhibition and sports competition. It will then end with a thanksgiving service.

According to the head of the event’s Organising Committee, Oladigbolu Rafiat, there will also be a segment tagged Community Forum, where residents of the host community, will have the privilege to relate more with the school staff and students.

According to her, the forum will further serve as a platform to correct certain impressions about the school. “Some people think Sound Hope is an Islamic school, which is absolutely not correct. It is simply a school for those who crave for qualitative education irrespective of their religion, tribe or even financial status.”

In her remarks, the proprietress of the school, Alhaja F.B. Monayajo, hinted that henceforth, the event is going to be held yearly where students and other stakeholders will be educated and entertained in a more relaxed atmosphere.

“This is not our first time of organising social events anyway, we have been holding cultural displays and all that before, but this is the first time we are outlining an all-week long event, so we look forward to making it better each year,” Monayajo stated.
