After seven awards at 11 international film festivals around the globe, Anchor Baby, the hit movie is not done winning awards. Recently at the Mexico International film festival, the movie was conferred with another one, a Golden Palm Award.
The new award is coming on the heels of the screening of the movie before a very satisfied audience at the ongoing Cannes International film festival. According to IndieWire.com, a reputable international film industry blog Anchor Baby was screened on 18 May at Gray d’Albion 2 Cinema, in Cannes.
It has equally gained some recognition on the festival circuit such as the Pan African Film Festival and the San Diego Black Film Festival.
Written and directed by Lonzo Nzekwe, Anchor Baby stars Omoni Oboli, Sam Sarpong, Terri Oliver, Colin Paradine, Mark Cassius, Michael Scratch, Cyrus Faird and Santiago Lopera.
