Okada Rider Caught With Ammunition

A team of policemen attached to the Federal Highway Patrol Unit has arrested an okada rider with ammunition in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

The suspect identified as Segun Sunday, was arrested along Badagry Expressway by the patrol team, folliwng a tipp-off by members of the public.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, the Lagos State Police image maker, Mr Sameul Jinaidu(DSP), said that when the police got information about the suspect they laid ambush and arrested him when he got to their check point.

According to the PPRO, when the suspect was searched, two live cartridges were found on him and when interrogated, he confessed to robbing the motorcyle with registration No. QL176FKJ.

Jinadu said the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, for discreet interrogation.

He advised members of the public to always report suspicious movements to the police.

In a similar development, the anti-robbery police team attached to FESTAC Police Station, Area ‘E’ Command, had a gun duel with some hoodlums along Old Ojo Road. In the process, two members of the gang were killed while others escaped.

Items recovered from the dead hoodlums include a brownie pistol, OFN-SMG and 12 live cartridges.
