Fadeyi Mayhem: Count Us Out —NURTW

The National Union of Road Transport Workers  (NURTW) has dissociated itself from yesterday’s violent clash at Fadeyi area of Lagos, saying its members were not involved.

In a statement signed by the State Secretary of NURTW, Comrade Akin James, JP, the union stated that the violent clash in the area has nothing to do with NURTW.

“It should be noted that there is no faction in NURTW, Lagos State, let alone a factional clash anywhere and moreover the NURTW has no approved park at the said Fadeyi,” James stated.

The union described incessant negative reports about NURTW as embarassing “and shall no longer be tolerated.

“We call on newsmen to verify facts before publication. We are happy that the police have taken control of the situation and would go further to bring the culprits to book.”
