Fashola Condoles With Families Of School Pupils Involved In Auto Crash

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Friday expressed shock and sadness at the death of three pupils of Cornerstone Bright School, Sangotedo in a fatal automobile accident on Thursday morning along the Lagos-Epe Expressway.

 

In his condolence letter to the parents of the three pupils- Esther Jonathan(10), Philip Adebisi (11)and Oluwatomisin Adebisi(10)- Governor Fashola said it was very unfortunate and worrisome that the incident claimed the lives of the innocent youngsters.

 

The governor also sympathised with the parents of three year old Master Ibrahim Zulu who sustained injuries in the crash.

 

The governor added that the accident which happened in the morning shortly after the children had just left homes for school and bade their parents bye was quite unfortunate.

 

He said he and members of the Lagos State Executive Council are one with the affected families at this moment of sorrow and pain.

 

“As a government, we cherish our young ones and we would continue to do everything to keep them out of harm’s way hence our various safety advocacy programmes. This sad incident, notwithstanding, efforts shall be intensified towards making the roads and indeed everywhere safer for the populace, especially, the young vulnerable ones,” the governor added.

 

He prayed to God to grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed children and grant the siblings and parents of those affected the fortitude and strength to bear the irreparable loss.

 

Three pupils of Cornerstone Bright Schools, Sangotedo reportedly lost their lives in a fatal automobile accident which occurred on the Lagos- Epe Expressway on Thursday as they were being driven to school in the school bus while three year old Ibrahim Zulu sustained injuries in the crash.
