Police Foil Attempt To Rob Supermarket

The police in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have foiled an attempt to rob a supermarket in Ikotun, a suburb of Lagos.

 

P.M.NEWS gathered that the timely arrival of officers of anti-robbery squard attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, prevented the robbery.

 

P.M.NEWS source disclosed that the supermarket attendant noticed the movement of the robber who was identified as Yusuf Akinsanya in the supermarket and alerted the police who respondended immediately and arrested the suspect.

 

Items recovered from the suspected at the time of arrest include one single barrel shotgun and one live cartridge.

 

In a similar development, anti-robbery police team from the SCID, acting on information, arrested four suspected armed robbers in a Toyota Camry car marked EP69BEN on Obala Bridge in Ijora.

During interrogations, the suspects confessed to stealing the car from their victim at Warri, Delta State.

 

The Lagos State Police Command image marker, Mr Samuel Jinadu, SP, said the state command is ever ready to deal with criminals in the state who have refused to either quit the business or relocate to other places.

 

“We are ready to deal with all the criminals in Lagos State who have refused to heed to our warnings that they quit the trade or go elsewhere as Lagos State is no more safe for them,” he said.
