Fresh from the Presidential election where Action Congress of Nigeria supported the candidature of President Goodluck Jonathan at the weekend, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state has resumed his campaign for the election into the State House of Assembly and the remaining National Assembly election in the Akoko-Edo Federal constituency.

Governor Oshiomhole urged the voters in the state not to confuse the presidential election in the state won by President Goodluck Jonathan for abandonment of the broom, saying the broom revolution in the state will bounce back for the House of Assembly election holding on Tuesday, 26 April.

The governor who said the electorate in the state were sophisticated and “have shown that they can separate the man (President Jonathan) from the party, even when the umbrella is leaking,” said the people are ready and willing to vote for the ACN in the House of Assembly election, considering the many development projects the ACN-led government has embarked on in just two tears in the saddle.

Speaking at a rally in Benin City, yesterday, after flagging off the Phase 2 of Siluko Road construction project, the Governor said the broom revolution is back “so that some people will not confuse our support for the President for abandonment of the broom”.

According to him, “next Tuesday, we are re-arming ourselves with the broom and we shall sweep away the leaky umbrella from our land; from Edo South to Edo Central to Edo North, we will sweep PDP away from Edo State.”

The governor, who emphasised the importance of the State House of Assembly election holding next Tuesday said: “this election is even more important to us than other elections, even the Presidential election,” maintaining that people should vote for candidates of a party based on the antecedents of that party.

He said: “for the ACN, our campaign is not by mouth, but by work. All our bulldozers are campaigning for us. Edo State is working again; even the opposition party and candidates agree that Edo State is working again.”
