Chief Coach of City of David, COD, Rollanson Odeh, is confident that his team have what it takes to secure the ticket for professional league come next seasons.

Odeh stated this during a chat with P.M.Sports in Lagos. COD are currently second in the National Amateur 1, while Grey FC are maintaining the first position on the table before the first stanza concluded recently.

Odeh expressed happiness that his team maintained a clean home record till the end of the first stanza. He said his target is to win at least two away matches and win their remaining home matches in the second stanza to earn them a ticket for promotion come next season.

“I want to commend our players for the good work. They really gave their best in all their matches. Unfortunately, we are yet to win an away match. We would have won or played a draw in our away matches but poor officiating prevented us from winning,” said Odeh who charged his team to go for an away victory in the second stanza.

Assessing the Amateur Division 1 League, Odeh said the Amateur League is tough but lamented that the issue of bad officiating, bad pitch and lack of security for officials and away teams should be addressed by the Nigeria Football League.

“We still have a long way to go in Amateur League. The League can be better if there is sponsor and good officiating. Every team wants to win home matches at all cost, which is not good for our football. Most of our away matches were not handled well, this can dampen the morale of the teams,” he said.
