2Face Idibia Clinches Two More Awards

Nigerian hip-hop and R&B icon, 2Face Idibia, has added two new awards to his credit.

The versatile singer was on Friday, 25 March, presented with an Award for Excellence at the 16th Annual THISDAY Awards held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

On Sunday, 27 March, the talented singer also clinched another award as the Best Musician of The Year at the City People Awards.

Celebrated as Nigeria’s best and brightest achiever in the music sector for 2011, 2Face received the plaque as one of the New Champions For An Enduring Culture at the glamorous awards dinner that had in attendance as distinguished speakers, Mr. Bill Clinton, former United States President and Arnold Schwarzenegger, former California Governor and Hollywood action movie hero.

2Face, who has also been pencilled down as a nominee at the 2011 BET Awards in the United States, was one of the headliners at the USAID-sponsored Don’t Swag My Vote concert last week.

Gradually gaining the much deserved recognition on the international scene, 2Face intends to use his growing influence over Nigerian youths to drive home more socially relevant campaigns, one of them, the recent media launch of Man Unkind, the theme song for FASPAC (Fake And Sub-standard Products Awareness Campaign), in partnership with NAFDAC.

The initiative is spearheaded by Hypertek and Now Muzik, in collaboration with Promotie Entertainment.
