Super Falcons’ Chief Coach, Uche Eucharia, has hailed the Nigerian team for their gallant performance in the 2012 Olympic qualifier played at the National Stadium, Abuja yesterday.
The Falcons whitewashed their opponents, the Brave Gladiators of Namibia 7-0 in what ended in a one sided game.
The African women champions, who have won the AWC for a record six times, had wrapped up the match scoring six unreplied goals in the first half, and completed the routing of the Namibians with a second half goal.
Eucharia, who commended her players for their brilliant showing, assured soccer-loving Nigerians that the team would consolidate on the victory during the second leg in a fortnight.
“I’m happy about the scoreline and the credit goes to the players for their gallant display,” Eucharia said, adding that, “however, we will not want to relax, we will continue to try our best and see that the team improve with every match.â€
