Remi Tinubu Will Represent Us Well

It is a well known fact that behind every successful man, there is always a great woman.

Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stands tall among such women.

Oluremi or Yeye Asiwaju as she is fondly known, was instrumental to the huge success recorded by her husband in Lagos State between 1999 and 2007.

For instance, she conceptualised and initiated “New Era Foundation”, which has remained second to none even today. Of course, so many talents have been discovered through her initiative. We will never forget this ma!

Oluremi equally instituted scholarship schemes which thousands of people benefited from while she was the first lady. Many indigent students are educated today in Lagos State because of her. Her empowerment initiatives can also be recalled.

Hence, it was not a surprise to me when she became a consensus candidate of ACN in her district. In my own opinion and the majority among all the contestants she stands out due to her past records. She has the capacity to transform the senatorial district into the one that will be worthy of emulation.

MADAM, WITH GOD ON YOUR SIDE, YOU’VE WON

The former first lady obviously means many things to many people as she trudged uphill an inspiring destiny. Yes YEYE is in her 50s but her gait suggests she’s much younger, not a strand of grey hair is on her head, her vision is unaided and her memory is amazingly sharp, a reason for endless applause. A lot of people have spoken of her resilience in getting things done and her husband’s integrity has opened several doors for her.

Her experience, competence, exposure, connections, sincerity, tenacity of purpose and influence put her on a pedestal higher than that of her political opponents. As far as I’m concerned the YEYE title given to her was well deserved because she has been destined to take her senatorial district to the next level as far as development is concerned. Her representation will bring about rapid development in the district. There will be poverty reduction, women empowerment, youth development, etc.. She has always been there for decades so her going to the RED CHAMBER will only expand the frontiers, because leadership drives anticipation.

She has always focused attention on the issue of primary health care, in reaching the unreachable where the demographic and geographic constraints of the people will not facilitate an orthodox-based practice.

This led to her “NEW ERA FOUNDATION” which has become a reference point in the entire country today. “SPELLING ‘B’ COMPETITION”. She has created a lot of job opportunities for people in the state as first lady and whatever she could do she has done it to attract positive impact on the lives of the people of the state.

Accordingly, when it came to looking for a personality that can turn things around, the onus fell on her, because since, 1999 even during NADECO era to date, she has always been there. At this juncture, I must give a lot of credit to Asiwaju himself. As a Senator, activist, governor, and political leader, he has attracted a lot of development in the state and “YEYE” is one of the pillars.

Normally, it is very easy for people seeking political office to say I will do a, b, c and z. Her antecedent has shown that she has the capacity to achieve certain community care development agendas. She has the capacity which is verifiable based on what she has done in the past. So it becomes easier to say this is what she would do now.
