The Presidential candidate of Action Alliance, AA, Engr. Martin Onovo has blamed the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,-led Federal Government for the political violence across the country in a bid to retain power.

He urged them to stop the ignoble act.

“Government is responsible for state violence out of desperation to hold on to power,” said Onovo.

He stated this while briefing newsmen in Enugu as part of his presidential campaign in the South East.

Engr. Onovo cited the Justice Kayode Eso Commission of Inquiry in Rivers State where government officials were indicted for inciting violence in the state without any punishment to serve as a deterrent to others.

“Government should stop sponsoring violence,” he added.

He further called for the disqualification of President Goodluck Jonathan for the April 9 presidential election for spending funds on his campaigns beyond the limit stipulated by the Electoral Act 2006.

Speaking on his agenda for the country, Engr. Onovo stated that his administration if elected will confront corruption, export petroleum products, restore power and enhance comprehensive productivity in the country in one term in office. “Nigerians need change now, otherwise a revolution will follow,” he warned.

Continuing, he said: “in a free and fair election, they cannot beat us. All we are asking is, let the people’s votes count.”

According to him, Action Alliance government will expose deregulation and end petroleum importation in the country and instead export the products by first meeting the local consumption and building more refineries.

“We are going to comprehensively change Nigeria in all sectors,” he said.

Furthermore, he warned that any attempt to rig the election will lead to its nullification, saying that Nigerian Advance Party, NAP, led by Barr. Tunji Braithwaite, has endorsed him while he also enjoys full support of Igbos. “Igbos are behind me. Eastern Union also endorsed me in Lagos.”
