Peter Utaka’s first minute goal opened the goal feast for Nigeria’s Super Eagles Sunday as they walloped Ethiopia 4-0  in the  crucial 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier decided at the Abuja National Stadium.

But the goal feast had to wait for the second half as the hard fighting Ethiopians tried to come back into the game.

Nigeria’s goal hunt intensified on resumption until the 54th minutes when Utaka, who is having his first competitive game for Nigeria in many years, beat onrushing Ethiopian keeper for the second goal.

Nigeria brought in West Bromwich of England forward, Osaze Peter Odemwingie for Victor Anichebe and Real Zaragoza of Spain striker Ikechukwu Uche, equally coming back into the Eagles after a long lay-off due to injury to strengthen the Eagles attack and their fine combination saw Uche hitting the Ethiopian back of the net in the 79th minutes for the third goal with Odemwingie ably assisting.

Undone with the three goals lead, Nigeria brought in the second Uche brothers and Almeria of Spain forward, Kalu Uche for the Milan midfielder, Joel Obi and it paid off with an almost 21 yards shot from Ikechukwu Uche which harmless sail into the Ethiopian net for the fourth goal for coach Siasia boys.

Nigeria now has six points and still trailing behind Group B leaders, Guinea who got a point off Madagascar to increase their point haul to seven.
