Reports from the NFF secretariat in Abuja, Nigeria, say Moses is ineligible to play for Nigeria in the nations Cup cracker because FIFA is yet to clear him.

Eagles’ Chief Coach, Samson Siasia confirmed the story to P.M.Sportsonline this afternoon.

Moses’ application to switch national team allegiance from England, whom he has represented at U-17 and U-21 levels, to Nigeria was received by FIFA only on Thursday.

“He will not play against Ethiopia as we are yet to receive clearance from FIFA,” Siasia said.

Moses was looking forward to feature for the Eagles against Ethiopia in a 2012 Nations Cup qualifier in Abuja and even promised to score on his debut.

“Playing for Nigeria was a tough decision to choose against England, where I have lived since I was 11 years, and I can’t wait to realize that dream,” Moses said in Abuja.
