Lagos Junior League: Organisers Unveil Plans For Premiership

Organisers of the Lagos Junior League, LJL, have released the programme for the Premier League scheduled to kick off in August.

 

After successfully concluding the qualifying stage, which ran from 19 September 2010 to 19 February 2011, the stage is now set for the commencement of the next stage with series of programmes to begin this month.

 

Fifty eight teams, 57 from the Local Council Development Areas, LCDA and Local Government Areas, LGAs and a private team, competed in the preliminary stage, in which they were divided into four groups. According to the time-table made available to P.M.Sports, letters and SMS have already been sent to stakeholders, while the website of LJL would also come alive.

Next month, online registration of clubs and players will commence. “Forms will be available on the website of LJL”. The organisers say there is need for all participating teams to have home and away jerseys, which should be in colour and copy-able format. They also cautioned that incomplete or incorrect forms will not be accepted.

It was gathered that come April, there will be the LJL Trophy Challenge, which will be used to raise funds and create awareness for the tournament, while there will be a facility tour before the month runs out.

In May/June there would be three events: verification of players, facility inspection and workshop. In the first week of July, fixtures would be released for previewing and released finally in the third week.
