The award winning R & B music superstar, who is also a judge on the show, further praised Star Quest for reviving the band culture.

He said “as an artiste, I have performed with several bands and the reason is not far-fetched. It requires a high level of creativity to engage the audience, playing music with a band. I believe Star Quest is deliberately tasking young musical talents to become creative by adopting the musical band platform. I also see it as a means of reviving the great music of yesteryears, which the older generation believes is fast fading away. There is no way you will form a music band and not reckon with the African culture and tradition.”

Paul Play further praised the management of Nigerian Breweries Plc, bottlers of Star lager beer and organisers of the show, for giving the youth a chance to take a shot at stardom.

Speaking on his experience as a Star Quest judge, he said “it has never been a dull moment since the auditions commenced. Speaking on the performances, I have seen the very good, the good and not so good, but beyond that, I think it further exposes the bundle of talents we have in Nigeria. They only require proper coordination and grooming to become superstars.”

Other celebrities on the Star Quest judging panel are KC of the group KC Presh and Freeze, a popular radio personality with Cool FM. Incidentally, KC Presh won the first edition of Star Quest in 2002.
