Still smarting from the recent gists swirling over her personality, Nollywood vixen, Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde will be starring in another star-studded international production Ties That Bind alongside Hollywood African-American actress, Nia Long.

Showbiz Trends gathered that the new project is the brainchild of award-winning Ghanaian filmaker, Leila Djansi, who wrote and directed the movie.

Also starring are Hakeem Kae-Kazeem, Ghana’s John Dumelo and British TV presenter cum actress Ama Abebrese.

The movie, Ties That Bind, tells the tale of three women —Adobea, Buki and Theresa— from different walks of life and bound together by a similar pain: the loss of a child. In a chanced meeting in a small village in Kroboland, the women journey together to redemption, love, life and forgiveness as they renovate a dilapidated clinic for the villagers.

A few weeks ago at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles, Leila’s movie, I Sing of A Well won the British Academy of Film and Television Arts/LA (BAFTA/LA) Festival Choice Award and then her another movie, Sinking Sands, received nine nominations for the 2011 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) and now new details are emerging about her current film project.

Omotola was reported to have been the cynosure of all eyes as she arrived Kotoka International Airport, Accra, Ghana last Wednesday.

The mother of four, who picked on the media over the report on her twitter message about her ex- still stalking her, looked slimmer and well toned in far contrast to her looks a few weeks ago. She was said to have hired a personal trainer and took up rigorous exercise sessions to attain her new look.

Speaking on the movie, Dumelo said he is excited about his role and describes the character he is to play as a “cool and calm” husband who is unfortunately married to a very difficult wife, but stays determined to make his marriage work.

The actor also expressed excitement about his fellow casts. “Nia Long has had a very successful career in Hollywood. I admire her work and I look forward to a great working relationship with her on set. I am also particularly happy working with Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Ama K Abebrese who are both recognised as talented actresses here in Africa”

Omotola has definitely earned respect and proved to the nay-sayers that she is disciplined and capable of achieving whatever she sets out to do. Ties That Bind is scheduled for release soon.
