The Ist Combat Sport Tournament organised by Tenelle Sports Ventures will hold 26 March at Rannel Hotel, Okokomaiko, Lagos State, Nigeria.
The tourney, which is a combination of boxing and kickboxing, would draw the best athletes of both sports in the male and female categories that will vie for the medals at stake.
At least, four bouts have already been confirmed and each round would be two minutes. The referees and judges that would officiate would be provided by the Lagos State Sports Council, LSSC.
Managing Director of the organiser of the event, Sola Lawal, told P.M Sports yesterday that the tournament would be explosive, judging by the form of the athletes that would vie for honours in the one-day event.
He said apart from the fights, there are also side attractions to spice up the event. According to the organisers, maximum security is also guaranteed at the tourney. Lawal said he had met with security outfits to maintain orderliness in and around the venue of the event.
“The show would be explosive. We at Tenelle are working round the clock to ensure we stage a memorable event,†he said.
